Lakelands Primary School's wonderful 'Sapling School'

We’re delighted that Lakelands Primary School's “Sapling School” will be continuing into the new academic year!

The Sapling School is an outdoor learning programme that encourages pupils to embrace the outdoors and respect nature while developing an understanding of a unique ecosystem. With activities ranging from building natural habitats to creating drainpipes from recyclable materials, every pupil is given the opportunity to care for the outdoor space.

Koulla Anslow, Headteacher of Lakelands Primary School, added: “It’s a wonderful way to teach our children about the importance of nature and wildlife while having fun outside of the classroom. The parent and carer community has been incredibly receptive to the idea, who have loved seeing their children return home happy albeit slightly muddy as well!”

Educating our pupils on sustainability and responsibility is important to our Trust, and all our schools provide impactful environmental learning through innovative and fun methods.
